Fencing: New Fences, Repairs & Staining

Texas wind is hard on wood fences. Storms lean them, the sun grays them, and posts rot where they meet the ground. The same storms that send us up on roofs usually take a few fence panels with them.

We build new fences, repair damaged sections and stain wood fences so they hold up longer and look sharp. It is one call for the roof and the fence after a storm.

When your fence needs work

  • Leaning sections or panels after a storm
  • Loose or rotting posts at the ground line
  • Broken, warped or missing pickets
  • A gate that drags or will not latch
  • Gray, weathered wood that has never been stained

Why staining is worth it

Unprotected wood dries out, grays and starts to split under Texas sun. A good stain slows that down, keeps the wood from soaking up water, and makes an older fence look close to new again. It is far cheaper than replacing panels early.

Fence damage and insurance

Fences damaged in the same storm as your roof may be part of the same claim, depending on your policy. Duane will look at both and document what he finds so you can discuss it with your carrier.

Questions

Fencing & Staining questions

Can you repair a few panels instead of replacing the whole fence?

Usually, yes. If the posts are solid, damaged panels and pickets can be replaced on their own. If the posts are rotting, a section rebuild is the longer-lasting fix.

How soon can a new fence be stained?

New pressure-treated wood usually needs time to dry out before it will take stain well. Duane will tell you when your fence is ready.
